Men bashed with fence posts in western NSW

Three men have been bashed with wooden fence planks in a home invasion in central west NSW.

Six men forced their way into the home on Beynon Street, Lithgow, and demanded cash from three residents at about 7.45pm on Wednesday, police said.

The six men then assaulted the occupants, aged 63, 53 and 49, with wooden fence blanks, before damaging walls in the home and a vehicle outside.

The 63-year-old was taken to Lithgow Hospital for treatment, and has since been released.
