Car smashed after men 'did burnouts and spat on police'

Two men have been arrested after crashing their Holden Commodore in Sydney's south-west overnight.

Police from Bankstown were called to Glencorse Avenue, Milperra, following reports of a car doing burnouts before crashing at 11.30pm.

When officers arrived they found the Commodore had smashed into a parked vehicle and a tree.

The driver, aged 18, allegedly failed a roadside breath test and was taken to Bankstown Hospital under police guard with minor injuries, where he has undergone mandatory tests.

Another 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene after he allegedly spat on police. He was taken to Bankstown police station where he was charged with assault police, resist police, and offensive language.

He was granted bail and is due to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.

Police are now awaiting the results of the driver’s blood tests, and inquiries continue.
