Men adopt stray puppies found while celebrating bachelor party in woods

A US groom and his friends have adopted a litter of puppies discovered after their starving mother crashed their bachelor party.

Michigan man Mitchel Craddock and his seven friends were recently cooking bacon in a cabin in the Tennessee wilderness when a dog appeared at their door, ABC News US reports.

“She wouldn’t come inside, but she sat right there,” Mr Craddock said.

Mr Craddock said he could immediately see that the dog had recently given birth and was suffering dehydration and malnourishment.

After feeding and watering her, Mr Craddock and his groomsmen went looking for her puppies.

Hidden in a hole in the woods not far away, they found a total of seven puppies, each sporting a “big fat belly”.

"The mom had given the pups literally everything she had,” Mr Craddock said.

The husband-to-be and his friends subsequently decided to adopt the eight dogs, the party devoting money pooled for food and beer to a "puppy food fund" instead. 

The puppies and their mother now live within eight kilometre radius of one another in Vicksburg, Michigan.
