Man receiving medical treatment after suspected Melbourne shooting

A man who is believed to have been shot in the chest in Melbourne's south-east in the early hours of yesterday morning is receiving medical treatment after police publicly urged him to.

Police earlier said they believed Anthony Scott, 37, was allegedly shot in the upper body during a violent confrontation in Narre Warren about 12.45am.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in Warrington Close, but when they arrived on the scene, Scott, and another man had allegedly left.

Police said Scott was last seen in the Forrest Hill area, later that morning, at about 3am.

On Sunday afternoon, police confirmed the man had been located and was receiving medical treatment.

While officers are still investigating the incident in Narre Warren, they believe the alleged attack was targeted.
