Two taken to hospital after car and school bus collide in Victoria's east

Two people have been rushed to hospital after a car collided with a bus carrying 20 students in Victoria's Gippsland region.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Bank Street and Princes Highway in Traralgon about 3.50pm today.

Ambulance Victoria dispatched significant resources to the scene.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Bank Street and Princes Highway in Traralgon about 3.50pm today.  Nine

"Two people have been transported by road ambulance to Latrobe Regional Health," it said.

One of the people taken to hospital was the 39-year-old driver of the car, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the bus and the 20 high school students on board escaped uninjured.

The exact circumstances of the crash are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
