Footage captures car plow into daycare centre, knocking over grandmother holding baby

Security footage has captured the shocking moment a car smashed into a daycare centre in Melbourne's north, knocking over a toddler and two women.

The car crashed into the front of the Bright Beginnings Centre at Broadmeadows about 9am.

CCTV footage shows the force of the crash bowling over a grandmother as she held her 11-month-old granddaughter.

The little girl, her grandmother, an employee and the driver were taken to hospital in stable conditions.

Police said there were no severe injuries.

It is believed the little girl suffered a knock to the head, with police saying she was "lucky to escape serious injury".

Police said the driver may have been trying to park the car when she accidentally hit the accelerator.

A neighbour from a nearby business, who did not want to be identified, told 9News she heard the shocking crash.

"I heard a loud bang. I thought it was an earthquake or a shooting or something," the woman said.

"I looked outside. All I can see is glass everywhere and the car was inside the office."

The office was extensively damaged.
