Boys hiding in skip end up in rubbish truck, driven to police station

Two boys trying to avoid security at a Melbourne shopping complex have had a lucky escape after the skip they hid in was unloaded into a rubbish truck.

An 11-year-old and a 14-year-old were at the Watergardens shopping centre in Taylors Lakes and hid in a rubbish skip, which was unloaded into a truck at 4am this-morning and fortunately driven to the Broadmeadows police station for its next pick-up.

The driver heard the boys pleading from the back of the truck and police were able to extract them, with both suffering only minor injuries.
