Melbourne man flexes his muscles while his mother is arrested

A young Melbourne man whose mother clashed with protective service officers was filmed doing chin-ups and push-ups as the verbal stoush escalated into a physical confrontation.

The bizarre scene is believed to have played out in sweltering heat in Frankston on Wednesday afternoon and was posted online that evening.

The video starts with two PSOs confronting a woman sitting at a bus shelter with her shirtless and thong-wearing son standing a few metres away.

"Shut up mate. You're the protective services - you're not f--king five-o mate," the woman shouts at the officers.

"Don't tell me what to do in the f--king society mate."

It is unclear what led to the clash but as the situation becomes increasingly tense the woman's son jumps to grab hold of the roof of the bus shelter and starts doing chin-ups.

When the display of strength fails to elicit a response from the officers the thin-framed man drops to the ground and starts doing push-ups.

But the antics don't seem to defuse the situation as the officers demand the screaming woman keep her mouth shut, causing her son to intervene.

"'Don't speak to my mum like that,' the man says.

But his pleas fall on deaf ears and soon the officers try and cuff the mother who resists them all the way, leading to a scuffle until she is eventually handcuffed and led away.

The video has been watched more than 90,000 times since it was posted online less than two days ago.
