Melbourne man charged with murder, arson

A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body after a garage fire.
The 49-year-old man's body was found by his parents following an explosion and fire in their inner Melbourne garage on Friday.
Collin Thomas was charged with one count of murder and one count of arson during an out-of-sessions court hearing early on Sunday.

Thomas, 32, of Fairfield, was remanded in custody to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Monday.
A 41-year-old Boronia man is currently assisting investigators with their inquiries.
Emergency crews were called to the Malvern East property about 5.30am on Friday, where the man's body was found by his parents inside the garage.
