Homicide squad investigating after man's body found in Melbourne's south-east

A homicide investigation is underway after police found a man's body during a welfare check at a home in Melbourne's south-east.

The body of the 34-year-old was found at a home at Rassay Court, Frankston just before 10pm yesterday.

Police ruled the death suspicious and a large area surrounding the house remained a crime scene for most of today.

Forensic investigators scoured the street while detectives took large bags of evidence from the house.

Members of the SES also conducted a line search of a nearby park.

A neighbour who was woken to sirens after the discovery last night said the incident was "very upsetting".

"It's usually very quiet around here," they said.
