A man has been left seriously injured after an argument turned physical on Flinders Lane in Melbourne’s CBD.

Police said the 23-year-old victim had just left a Kings Street venue about 6.10am on Friday when he became involved in a verbal disagreement with an unknown man.

The stranger grabbed the Altona Meadows man, placed him in a headlock and punched him in the face.
