Man 'scared' to walk outside after brutal rottweiler attack

A young man brutally mauled by a rottweiler is pleading for its owner to come forward and surrender his dog. 

His terrifying ordeal – captured on CCTV – is the third incident in Melbourne's north-west in the past week.

Lance was on a trip to the barbershop when a dog on a leash broke free.

"I was on my phone and then all of a sudden it just attacked me out of nowhere for no reason at all," he told 9News.

CCTV captured chilling screams echoing through Roxburgh Park.

"Straight panic, like fear straight away 'cause it straight off the bat like it looked angry as it was already," he described his reaction.

The rottweiler latched onto the 20-year-old, munching through multiple layers of clothing as the man tried to run away.

"I didn't even notice the face until like it came up beside me and then all of a sudden it was just on my back, just going at me," Lance said.

The owner wrestled his pet off but walked away without an apology or a helping hand.

"He's bitten me everywhere, he's bitten me on my back and places that I can't say," Lance said.

It's the third incident in the same council area in as many days.

In Sunbury, a woman with a pram was mauled by three dogs on Friday, the same ones that attacked an elderly woman the day before.

As for the rottweiler that pounced on Lance, he's pleading for the owner to come forward.

"[I'm] scared actually to even walk, like, in public anymore," he said.
