Armed with a torch and golf clubs, home intruders have stormed into a young family’s Melbourne home overnight.

Exclusive video obtained by 9NEWS of the offenders shows them swarm all corners of the Sunshine North property about 2.25am.

Two bandits can be seen entering the main bedroom, where a sleeping couple wake to their worst nightmare.

Lee*, 29, negotiates with the burglars as his 27-year-old girlfriend Ruby* and her young children, aged three and four, watch on in horror.

The factory worker steps in when one of the offenders goes to steal electronics, but is swiftly pushed aside.

“I just told them don't do anything to my family, you can take anything, don't try to hit my family,” Lee told 9NEWS.

“I felt scary, very scared and my kid saw them as well.”

Lee attempted to chase the robbers in his car onto Meadow Bank Drive, but they fled after reaching estimated speeds of 170km/h.

During the three minute heist, the thieves stole a luxury Dior handbag, designer jackets and wallets, along with a television and cash; the loot totalling more than $10,000.

This is the second time in two months the family has been targeted.

“I can’t stay here for (any) longer, it’s very dangerous for my family and my kids,” Lee said.

The victim said he suspects it’s the same culprits, as they noticed an upgrade in security.

“When they saw me they asked why I put a camera in,” Lee recalled.

Police investigations are now underway, with the robbers all described as being Caucasian in appearance.

Investigations into the robbery are ongoing.
