Melb warned of swooping season
AAP
It's time to add some cable ties to your bike helmet, because Melbourne's bird swooping season has started.
Magpies have been swooping for about two weeks, the Environment Department warns, with plovers and other swoop-prone bird species to follow.
"As the weather starts to warm up birds start breeding, and we want people to be aware of swooping birds," Regional Manager of Environment and Natural Resources Bryan Welch says.
