Darwin harvesters discover mega mango in crop
A Northern Territory mango grower has uncovered a massive mango, weighing 1.5 kilograms.
Stephen Jenkins, of Jenko's Mangoes in Noonamah, said his wife found the gigantic summer favourite when she was sorting fruit.
"She noticed how big it was, and put it aside," he told 9News.
"I think a lot of people got a surprise - especially the staff."

Mr Jenkins, who has 25 years' experience in the business, said large mangoes are uncovered every harvest, but this particular fruit was one of the heaviest he has come across.
"It's unusual - mangoes are about six kilos per box, and you'll quite often get six, seven or eight R2E2's (A type of mango) to a box, but this one would be a four," he said.
"It's pretty big when you think about it."
While the jumbo fruit has attracted plenty of attention, it won't be trucked off to a supermarket.
"They're too big to send south," Mr Jenkins said.
"It would just wobble around everywhere in the box - the boxes have got to be tight, so they travel properly."

The average mango weighs around 200 grams, and the CEO of Australian Mangoes, Robert Gray, is not aware of any others to have trumped the Jenkins' find in size.
Jenko's Mangoes started production in August, and they're working through 120 bins of mangoes each day, to produce around 6,000 trays per day.
"We've finished Darwin harvest, and we're now onto Katherine and we've still got about a week to go," Mr Jenkins said.
This year's Northern Territory mango season crop is predicted to yield up to 4.5 million trays.
