An 18-year-old Indigenous model from Darwin is ready to light up international catwalks as she heads to Milan.
Elina Moscheni secured a prestigious two-month contract with Fashion Models Milan, exposure which will likely see her secure more high-end catwalk shows, all the while moving closer to her dream – to follow in Miranda Kerr’s high-heeled footsteps, and become a Victoria’s Secret model.
“I have had the same goal since I was a little girl, and that is to work for Victoria’s Secret. It might take some time, but I hope that I’ll get there eventually,” she told the Daily Mail Australia.
The former Darwin High School student, who hit the runways at Australian Fashion Week as a model for Chanel, also told the NT News she was especially excited to connect with her cultural heritage, as her father’s family are Italian.
“It’s my first working trip overseas and my dad’s family is from Italy, so it will be great to be able to see family as well,” she said.
“The Milan industry is very versatile so they have editorial, commercial and runway.”
She also urged young people with the same dream to work hard and believe anything is possible.
“My advice is to work hard, be professional, be healthy and take feedback constructively.”
