Mechanical fault forces Melbourne-bound Qantas flight to divert

A Qantas plane travelling from Dubai to Melbourne has been forced to land in Singapore after suffering a mechanical fault with its engine.
QF10 was three hours into its flight when it diverted to Singapore at 4.30pm local time (7.30pm AEDT) a Qantas spokesman told 9NEWS, adding it completed a routine landing at Changi airport.

“Customers will be booked on the next available service to their destination or provided overnight accommodation,” the spokesman said.
“We sincerely thank our customers for their patience and understanding.”
