Girl felt sick after ‘assault’ by mechanic facing 17 charges

An 11-year-old girl has added her voice to the group of women accusing Sydney mechanic George Tannous of improper behaviour at his workshop.

Mr Tannous first appeared on A Current Affair in April, when he was facing half a dozen indecent assault charges from six alleged victims.

Now, that number has risen to 17 charges from 12 women.

Mr Tannous told A Current Affair he had not indecently assaulted them.

"I'm a director of a business," he said.

Last week, Mr Tannous was charged with indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

Her family came forward following A Current Affair's previous report on Mr Tannous.

The girl, a daughter of a customer, told detectives she felt uncomfortable and sick in the stomach after she was allegedly indecently assaulted by Mr Tannous.

His lawyer said he would plead not guilty to all charges.

The Department of Fair Trading has also cancelled Mr Tannous's Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate, triggering the closure of his workshop.

He will return to court in September.
