McDonald's Minions toy sounds like it's swearing

Parents in the US are not happy with McDonald's because a new Minions Happy Meal toy sounds like it's saying the "Well, I'll be damned" and the non-acronym version of "WTF".

The toys have been released to coincide with the children's movie and Despicable Me spin-off Minions hitting theatres, but the surly language of one of the range has parents up in arms.

A number of videos have captured the Caveman Minion's dirty mouth, with parents asking the Golden Arches for an explanation.

"My daughter got a Happy Meal from McDonald's with a toy, of course," said Paul Butts in one video on YouTube.

"Originally we didn't think anything of it until my wife this morning was moving it out of the car seat and heard something didn't quite sound right."

The father taps the toy a few times so it makes several garbled noises.

It doesn't sound human quite human, but it does indeed sound like the toy says "Well, I'll be damned" and "What the f---".

"Seriously, out of a McDonald's toy," said an incredulous Mr Butts.

However, McDonald's have denied the cheap plaything is swearing, telling Fox28 the toys are speaking "Minionese", a nonsense of made-up words and sounds.

Any similarities to actual words are a coincidence, the fast-food giant said.
