The price for footy food favourites will remain frozen at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium over the 2024 AFL Premiership Season.

The price freeze will see fans pay just $4.50 for a pie, making it the competition's most affordable.

It comes a week after the MCG warned patrons to expect a price hike on food and drink items.

Hot chips will also be priced at $4.50, while hot dogs remain at $6.00.

Fans buying food at the MCG can however expect to pay $6.20 each for hot chips and a meat pie.

AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers said affordability was front of mind for footy fans.

"There is nothing better than watching the footy in the stands with your friends and family, so we're thrilled that we can freeze the price of the footy favourites to keep it as affordable as possible," Rogers said.

"Our stadium food pricing paired with the ticketing price freeze, family ticketing offer and no transaction fees at Marvel Stadium continues to ensure access and affordability for footy fans as a priority.

"It is literally cheaper to buy a pie at Marvel Stadium than it is at a servo."

Fans can also continue bringing their food and drink into the stadium, with water fountains located throughout the venue.
