‘Married at First Sight’ star pleads not guilty to assaulting ex-girlfriend

A man who appeared on two reality TV shows to find love has today pleaded not guilty to assaulting an ex-girlfriend.

Lachlan Rofe, also known as Lachlan McAleer on ‘Married at First Sight’ and Farmer Lachlan on ‘The Farmer Wants a Wife’, has denied accusations he choked his former partner.   

Kasey Williams claims Mr Rofe attacked her in front of her two-year-old daughter late last year at his property in Cawdor, in Sydney’s south-west.

The court today heard Mr Rofe, who is fighting one count of common assault, had drunk an entire case of beer throughout the day, and then began screaming at his girlfriend before chasing her through the house and grabbing her by the neck.

He also reportedly told Ms Williams to “get stuffed, I’m doing it for love”.

Mr Rofe had also been allegedly verbally abusive towards his partner for a number of months.

His lawyers claimed Ms Williams was extremely jealous he would regularly receive romantic messages from his fans on his Facebook page.

The case will return to court in July.
