Three men charged over Marrickville barbershop shooting

Three men have been charged over their alleged involvement in a daylight shooting in Sydney's Inner West earlier this year.

Emergency services were called to a barbershop on Marrickville Road in Marrickville about 1.50pm on July 7.

Brothers William and Eric Siale, 33 and 20, were located at the scene with gunshot wounds.

Both have since been released from hospital.

Shortly after the shooting, police allegedly found two burnt-out cars - a grey Kia Stinger in Marrickville and a white Triton ute in Dulwich Hill.

Two days later they discovered a third burnt-out car - a white Toyota Aurion - in Smithfield.

As part of a public appeal for assistance this week, police released CCTV of two men seen leaving the Aurion and getting into a white Toyota Yaris.

About 2.40pm on Tuesday detectives arrested a 28-year-old at a correctional centre in Grafton, where he was charged with participating in a criminal group.

Police alleged in court yesterday the man was involved in stealing a car used in the getaway from the shooting.

A further two men - aged 26 and 27 - were arrested at Kempsey Police Station about 10.30am yesterday.

Both were charged with shooting with intent to murder and participating in a criminal group.

They were remanded in custody and appeared before Kempsey Local Court yesterday, where they were formally refused bail to reappear at Burwood Local Court on January 17.

Police will allege the men were involved in the staging and burning of the vehicles used in the shooting.

Investigations are ongoing.
