Blaze erupts at industrial site in Sydney's inner west

Fire crews are on site and roads have been blocked in Sydney's inner west after a fire erupted this morning at an industrial site in Marrickville.

Fire crews were called to the blaze on Cook Street at about 3.15am, to find three two-storey industrial units well alight.

As of about 6am there were 16 fire trucks and 50 firefighters at the scene.

Firefighters cut their way into the building but were forced to withdraw as the blaze grew.

Aerial crews with hose lines were able to keep the fire contained to the one site, with no neighbours suffering any damage.

There were no reports of people inside the building, and tenants had confirmed none of their staff had been on site.

No firefighters have been injured.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown.

Cook Street remains blocked off, while Sydenham Road is partially open, with drivers in the area urged to take care.
