Mark Dreyfus rubbishes retirement rumours

Labor frontbencher Mark Dreyfus has rubbished reports he is preparing to quit federal politics.

Rumours have been circulating for several weeks that the shadow-attorney general is considering standing down from his Melbourne seat of Isaacs to take a position at Victoria's Court of Appeal.

"Despite reheating of baseless rumours this morning, as I said in August I'll be staying and fighting the next election," Mr Dreyfus tweeted on Monday.
