Manslaughter charge dropped against son

Prosecutors have dropped a manslaughter charge against a man who had been accused of killing his 68-year-old father.

Michael Ellis Taylor, 45, was originally charged with murdering Brian Taylor at his father's Port Noarlunga home on July 22, but this was later downgraded to manslaughter.

Mr Taylor snr allegedly collapsed and died after an argument and a scuffle between the pair.

A previous court hearing was told he had a history of heart disease and that his son immediately performed CPR after his father collapsed.

Michael Taylor appeared in Adelaide magistrates court on Tuesday, when the prosecution offered no evidence in relation to the manslaughter charge.

Taylor also has been charged with serious criminal trespass and assault.

He returns to court on February 19.
