Missing Mandurah kite surfer found safe after 'up to eight hours' stranded

A Mandurah kitesurfer missing since yesterday evening has turned up at home alive and well.

Malcolm Muller, 37, was kitesurfing on the Peel Inlet near Wannanup yesterday when he failed to return.

It is believed he was stranded in the water for up to eight hours before making it to shore.

He managed to get a lift home early this morning.

Police, assisted by Volunteer Marine Rescue, had searched the area yesterday evening and were recommencing their search this morning when it was called off.
