Man tows trailer engulfed in flames 20km down highway
Dramatic police video has captured a driver dragging a fully ablaze trailer along a Queensland highway.
The video shared by Queensland Police shows sparks flying from the wheelless trailer on the Bruce Highway in the early hours of January 18.
Flames and debris are strewn across the road as the Holden Rodeo driver, seemingly oblivious to the trail of destruction behind him, continues down the road.
Police said it took two attempts to stop the man behind the wheel, before he finally pulled over at the intersection of the Bruce Highway and Dovedale Road.
It is believed the 49-year-old driver had travelled 20 kilometres along the highway with the ignited trailer, triggering multiple spot fires along adjoining bushland.
Investigations are ongoing.
