Man to face court over Adelaide fires

A man is to front court over a spate of brush fence fires outside residences in Adelaide.

The 50-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with arson in relation to three fires which occurred in the western suburbs.

Police and fire crews responded to eight brush fence fires and one tree fire between 10pm (CDST) on January 2 and 2.30am on January 3.

The man was arrested on January 3. He was refused bail and is due to appear in Port Adelaide magistrates court on Monday.

Police are continuing their inquires in relation to the remaining deliberately-lit fires.
