Alleged drink-driver crashes into three parked cars before hitting pedestrian in Sydney

A Sydney father has been rushed into surgery with a broken leg and chest injuries after being hit by an alleged drunk-driver in the city's south-west.

Canley Heights man Minh Chau, 53, was leaving a family gathering on Curtin Street in Cabramatta at around 6pm yesterday when he was struck. 

Shocked neighbours, family and friends watch on as paramedics treated Mr Chau on the street. 

"There was a loud bang. You had all the neighbours running, coming out," witness Andy Duong said.

The Baulkham Hills female driver, 35, allegedly crashed into three parked cars before hitting Mr Chau.

She allegedly recorded a breath-alcohol reading of 0.077 and was charged with low range drink-driving.

"She didn't even come out of the car," Mr Duong said.

"She didn't come out of the car, and that's when we gave him first aid and called the ambulance."

Detectives have seized CCTV from outside the home where the accident happened.

They are hopeful the security vision will form a key part of their investigation against the alleged drink driver.
