Man fighting for life after golf club stabbing in central Victoria
A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being stabbed at a golf club in central Victoria yesterday afternoon.
The 33-year-old victim was airlifted to hospital after he was allegedly stabbed in the thigh at Broadford Golf Club on Horwood Road after an altercation with two other men before 5pm, a police spokeswoman said.
Another man, a 31-year-old from Cranbourne, was arrested over the incident and has since been charged with intentionally cause serious injury and two counts of threat to inflict serious injury.
The three men are known to each other.
The victim is being treated at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
Broadford Golf Club president Chris Spencer said the clubhouse was closed at the time.
Broadford is an 18-hole course about 80km north of Melbourne.
The accused will appear at Shepparton Magistrates' Court today.
