Man sought after daylight stabbing in Melbourne CBD

A man is sought after a stabbing in Melbourne's CBD last month.

It's believed the victim, a 30-year-old North Melbourne man, was involved in an altercation with an unknown man outside a licensed premises on King Street at about 11.50am on September 22.

As the 30-year-old tried to leave in a taxi, the man stabbed him twice and fled on foot.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He has since undergone surgery.

Police have released images of a man they believe can help with their inquiries.

The man is believed to be of Torres Strait Islander appearance and was wearing a black and white hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and a black bag.
