Masked man in hi-vis shoots Sydney man in home before escaping

A man is in hospital in a serious condition after a masked man in hi-vis clothing came into his home and shot him in Sydney's north-west overnight.

Just before 9pm, police were called to a home on Milford Road in Londonderry.

A 37-year-old man inside had suffered gunshot wounds to both his legs.

A man in hi-vis clothing and wearing a face covering had entered the home and shot him before fleeing, police said.

He was not found during a subsequent police search.

The injured man was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police believe the shooting was targeted.
