Man's body found on Geelong driveway after fatal shooting

A man's body has been found on a Geelong driveway after he was shot dead.

Authorities were called to the scene at Norlane, west of Melbourne, around 1.40pm (AEST).

The man, aged in his 20's, is yet to be formally identified.

"I could hear some screaming, and then I heard a gunshot, then I looked over the fence and people were running around crazy," a female witness told 9 NEWS.

"It left me feeling quite unnerved living in this street," another witness said.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are yet to be established.

A homicide squad is investigating and police would not say whether they had apprehended any suspects.
