Man questioned over girl's broken ankle

A man is being questioned by West Australian police over a car accident that left a nine-year-old girl with a suspected broken ankle.

The accident occurred on Monday near Eden Hill Primary School in Perth's northern suburbs.

Initial information provided to police was the driver had left the scene after checking on the girl.

She is believed to have suffered a broken ankle and was taken to hospital.

On Tuesday, police said the driver had been in contact as a result of a public appeal for information.

He was assisting crash investigators with their inquiry, police said.
