Man posts ‘selfie’ to stranger’s Facebook after allegedly stealing phone
Police are searching for a man after he allegedly stole a phone before posting a photo to the stranger's Facebook page. (Victoria Police)
A man has posted a selfie to a stranger’s Facebook page after allegedly stealing a mobile phone in Melbourne.
Police released images of two suspects believed to be involved in the theft, after the phone was stolen from an apartment complex in Southbank.
A man in his 20s allegedly took the phone which had been left on the reception desk of the Haig Street complex about 1.29pm while the concierge was distracted.
He then fled the building.
A photo of the man alongside a woman was posted to the victim’s Facebook page using the stolen phone following the theft.
The man was wearing a camouflage cap, a black jacket, three-quarter length pants and black and white shoes.
Images of him taken from CCTV, and the photo shared to Facebook, have been released by police.
