Man pleads not guilty to strangling teen

A man will face trial after pleading not guilty to killing a teenage girl by strangling her at a home in Perth's southeast.

Rodney Kevin Corbett appeared in the Supreme Court of Western Australia via video link from Hakea Prison on Monday, charged with the murder of an 18-year-old woman at a house in Beckenham in October last year.

The trial was provisionally set down for April 20 to May 4 next year.

Corbett, who was 28 at the time of the alleged offence, was remanded in custody.

He will be back in court on August 21.
