Man accused of torturing, killing kangaroos pleads guilty

A second man accused of torturing and killing two kangaroos in Western Australia has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges.

Police say one marsupial was burnt, shot with a firearm, spat on and kicked, and held and punched several times by one of the four men, who wore knuckledusters.

Another kangaroo was stabbed more than 20 times then kicked in the head.

Dylan Leslie Griffin, 22, appeared in Joondalup Magistrates Court on Monday where he pleaded guilty to ill treatment of an animal and possessing things intended to inflict cruelty.

He is scheduled to appear in court again on January 14.

Ricky Ian Swan, 28, previously pleaded guilty to his role in the attacks, which allegedly happened between May 19 and June 16.

Luke Kevin Dempster, 26, is also accused of torturing a chicken on March 31.

He and a third man, 26-year-old Ben Jaydon Malpuss, have additionally been charged with firearm offences.
