Man pleads guilty to supplying the gun that killed Curtis Cheng

A man has pleaded guilty to supplying the pistol used to execute police employee Curtis Cheng in Parramatta.

Talal Alameddine, 24, appeared in the New South Wales Supreme Court via video link from Goulburn Supermax prison today to admit to his involvement in the 2015 terror attack, in return for the withdrawal of the main terror charge.

Alameddine entered pleas to possessing and supplying the .38 Smith & Wesson revolver to Farhad Jabar, 15, who was captured on CCTV leaving Parramatta Mosque and walking to police headquarters where he shot Mr Cheng dead.

Jabar was wounded in an exchange of gunfire with security officers and died at the scene.

A suicide note was found afterwards in which he said, “by the will of Allah I have come today to put terror into your hearts”.

Raban Alou had already pleaded guilty to engaging in a terrorist attack after he was caught on CCTV talking to Jabar at the mosque for hours before the attack.

Two other co-accused, Mustafa Dirani and Milad Atai have pleaded not guilty to involvement and will face trial next year.
