Queensland man feared missing on sail boat after leaving Hervey Bay almost a week ago

A Queensland man is feared missing on his boat after leaving Hervey Bay, in the state’s southeast, almost a week ago.

Police have issued a public call for assistance after the man, who is in his 60s, left Hervey Bay Marina on February 14 and has not been seen or heard from since.

He is believed to be travelling on a 34-foot Manitou Ketch vessel with the name ‘Wayfarer’.

Authorities claim the man’s behaviour is out of character and he didn’t leave travel plans or information with another person.

The direction the boat may have travelled remains unknown.

Local police are now urging anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
