Man missing after NSW river swim

A man is missing after trying to swim across the Murrumbidgee River in central NSW.
A search is underway after friends lost sight of the 19-year-old at 6:45pm (AEDT) on Friday.
Police say the teenager was trying to swim across to an embankment over the other side of the river at Wagga Wagga.

He entered the water with a 28-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy when he began to struggle.
The 28-year-old man turned back to help but lost sight of him, police say.
He searched the water before returning to the embankment to contact police.
A search involving police, divers, State Emergency Service volunteers and ambulance rescue is underway.
