Suspect in Rayney murder in court for assault charges

A 49-year-old man linked to Corryn Rayney's 2007 murder has appeared in court accused of attacking a Perth woman.
The man, who can't be named, is charged with deprivation of liberty, indecent assault and assault occasioning bodily harm over an incident in Wilson on June 9.
He appeared briefly in Perth Magistrates Court today, but was not required to enter a plea.
The man is due back in court on February 13.
Ms Rayney's husband, former prominent barrister Lloyd Rayney, was acquitted of murdering her after a judge-alone trial.
His defence team named the 49-year-old man during the trial as a possible person of interest in connection to Ms Rayney's murder.
