Man severely injured after being hit by weights at gym
A man has been rushed to hospital with head and chest injuries after being hit by a weight while doing an early-morning workout.
The man was given CPR by other gym-goers at the Brisbane CBD gym after the accident at 5.45am.
Queensland Ambulance clinical director Lachlan Parker said paramedics tried to revive the man, who he estimated was aged between 25 and 35, before rushing him to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Parker said the man had "very severe injuries".
"It does appear that he had been struck by a weight at the gym, causing his head and chest to suffer significant injuries," Parker said.
A fire crew was called in to help with the response, arriving shortly after 6.20am.
Parker warned people never to work out alone, and to ensure they know how to use their equipment.
