Man injured in explosion at Vic home

A Melbourne man has been injured when a detonator exploded in his hand.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon at the 29-year-old man's Mickleham home in the city's north, police said.

He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman Ray Rowe said the man is in a stable condition.

It is believed he lost fingers in the accident.
