Police know of Woodcroft shooting victim

Police are waiting to speak to a man who was shot and bashed in a targeted attack over what is believe to be a drug dispute in Sydney's west.

Police were called to a small suburban carpark in Woodcroft near Blacktown at 10:20pm on Tuesday to find a 32-year-old man with serious wounds to his head and chest.

Forensic teams have finished examining the crime scene, where the Seven Network says they found gun pellets, a pool of blood, cash, a mobile phone and the victim's car.

Fire and rescue crews are cleaning the carpark.

Detective Inspector Paul Tickner says the man is known to police, who are investigating whether the shooting is gang or bikie-related.

It's believed police are searching for two men.

"At this stage, it's still under investigation. We've identified the male ... (but) the motive behind the shooting ... we haven't established," Mr Tickner told Macquarie Radio on Wednesday.

The man is being treated in hospital for the injuries to his face and chest.

Neighbours are angered by the shooting and say the reserve should be closed by Blacktown City Council at night.
