Man hit by train in Perth

A man has been hit by a train in Perth's suburbs.

The packed train was taking a large number of passengers to Kalgoorlie ahead of the outback mining town's biggest horse racing event this weekend.

The train stopped for more than an hour as emergency crews removed the injured man from underneath a carriage before taking him to hospital.
