A 30-year-old man has had his leg torn off in a construction accident in Sydney's south this afternoon.
Paramedics treated the man at the building site in Wolli Creek after he was caught under a large excavator.

He was given emergency blood transfusions by a Careflight doctor before being taken by ambulance to St George Hospital.
He is currently in a serious but stable condition.
