Man dies after citizen's arrest outside hotel in North Perth

A man has died after he was the subject of a citizen's arrest in North Perth last night. (9NEWS)
A man has died after being detained in a citizen’s arrest in North Perth last night.
The 36-year-old man was caught breaking into cars behind the Hyde Park Hotel at the corner of Bulwer and Fitzgerald Street at about 6.30pm last night.

Three men intervened and restrained the man until police arrived.
Officers quickly realised the man needed urgent medical attention and commenced CPR.
He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition but died this morning.
Police have cordoned off an area outside the hotel as they investigate.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
