Man dies in fiery NSW crash

Police are investigating a fatal crash this evening near Albury in southern NSW.

It is understood that just before 7.30pm, a truck was forced to stop on the Hume Highway due to mechanical faults.

A short time later, a second heavy vehicle crashed into the back of the parked truck, starting a small fire.

Paramedics attempted to revive the driver of the second vehicle, a 47-year-old man, but he died at the scene.

The other driver, a 25-year-old man, was not in his vehicle at the time of the crash and was uninjured.

He was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
