Man falls to death 'posing for photos' at whale watching spot
A man aged in his 30s has died after falling from a popular whale watching spot in Sydney’s south this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Cape Solander, Kurnell, following reports a man had fallen from a rock ledge near a whale watching vantage point about 1.20pm.
It’s believed the man was posing for photographs with his boyfriend moments before slipping and plunging into the waters below.
His body was later found by a scuba diver.
"Initial inquiries suggest the incident was misadventure and there are no suspicious circumstances," NSW Police said in an official statement.
The man’s partner was also treated for shock at the scene.
Police investigations are now underway, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
