Man dies following e-scooter crash in Brisbane
A man has been killed in a crash while riding an electric scooter in Brisbane's CBD.
The man in his 50s was riding his personal e-scooter along a Brisbane River bikeway in South Brisbane before hitting a pole just before 7am today.
Paramedics, critical care and High Acuity Response teams were called to the scene but could not revive the man.

Forensic officers have spent the morning at the scene, attempting to understand what caused the collision.
"We understand the scooter overtook a pushbike just prior to the incident," Police Inspector Daniel Bragg said.
"The scooter became a little bit wobbly … and he lost control, he hit a post, and the scooter kept going.
"The speed he was doing at the time is yet to be determined."

Inspector Bragg also expressed concerns over the growing number of e-scooter related deaths in Queensland's south-east in recent years.
"This isn't the first scooter death I've attended … it's a concern moving forward," Inspector Bragg said.
"Scooter riders are quite vulnerable because they don't have the protection that a car's got."
A Sunshine Coast father was killed in September 2020 after losing control of an electric scooter and hitting a pole south of Brisbane.
